Kim Aikman

Writer

Kim Aikman is a writer, living in Walyalup (Fremantle), Western Australia, with her husband and four children. She holds a BA in English Studies and a MSc in Creative Writing, and is currently enrolled on the Master of Arts (Literature & Writing) at Deakin University. Her writing has been published in The Independent, The List, Mslexia, Essence, Verandah, Westerly, Meanjin Quarterly, Varnish Online, and Gems Zine. She was selected by Allen & Unwin for the Varuna Writers Centre Publisher Introduction Program in 2019, and was a fellow of the FAWWA Four Centres Emerging Writers’ Program from 2021-2023. Kim has studied novel writing at the Faber Writing Academy and memoir writing at Granta, and has completed residential fellowships at the Varuna Writers Centre and the KSP Writers’ Centre. She writes both fiction and creative non-fiction, and has a particular interest in the personal essay.
